Vice Governor Guo Ningning Meets with Swiss Consul General in Guangzhou
On April 16, Vice Governor Guo Ningning met with visiting Swiss Consul General in Guangzhou, Martin Bienz, in Fuzhou.
Guo set out that Fujian and Switzerland have enjoyed friendly exchanges and steady and sustained growth of bilateral trade in recent years, evidenced by the fact that Switzerland has become Fujian’s third largest import market in Europe, and a number of Swiss companies, including Nestle have established presence in Fujian. She called for the establishment of sister province relationship between Fujian and Schwyz through high-level exchanges, and encouraged more efforts to strengthen industrial cooperation in precision instrument, electronics and electrics and healthcare, expand commodity trading and training of financial personnel, and promote people-to-people links and two-way tourism.
Bienz said that as next year will mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Consulate General is ready to work for closer ties between Switzerland and Fujian in the areas of trade, business, tourism, finance, and sister province.
